ABOUT JULIE
For more than thirty years, Julie has been teaching, training, writing and leading—from the local church to Christian higher education to national leadership. She is known for her practical wisdom, relational warmth, and ability to help leaders build ministries that are both deeply faithful and highly effective.

Julie has dedicated her life to helping the church disciple children in ways that are biblically grounded, theologically thoughtful, and intentionally shaped for real-life faith. She spearheaded the creation of KidminRoadmap.com, a comprehensive resource hub designed to help churches of every size develop clear strategies for children’s discipleship, Scripture engagement, parent partnership, and leadership development. Her work with the Bible Engagement Project has helped shape age-aligned resources that invite kids and families into meaningful interaction with God’s Word and a growing, everyday relationship with Jesus.

A gifted communicator and trainer, Julie brings decades of hands-on ministry experience to every setting she serves. Whether speaking at national conferences, coaching ministry teams, or equipping volunteers, she blends practical tools with a rich understanding of how children learn, believe, and grow. Leaders appreciate her ability to connect big-picture theology with simple, actionable steps that strengthen Bible literacy and spiritual formation in the next generation.

Julie’s passion is to help churches and families partner together to develop disciples who truly encounter Scripture, know God personally, and develop a lifelong faith of their own. She believes the most effective ministries are those rooted in God’s Word, centered on discipleship, and shaped by intentional, thoughtful leadership.

She and her husband Shelby have been married for over 30 years and are grateful parents of three children (plus two beloved dogs). When she isn’t teaching or training, Julie loves traveling, discovering new places, and feeding her incurable case of wanderlust.
